Narcissistic fathers often emotionally damage their children. They disregard boundaries, manipulate their children by withholding affection (until the children “perform”), and neglect to meet the needs of their children

They emphasize different things. Men are likely to emphasize intellect, power, aggression, money, or social status. Women are likely to emphasize body, looks, charm, sexuality, feminine “traits”, homemaking, or their children and childrearing.

The signs of a narcissistic mother are her inability to give love and empathy to her child. One of the hallmark symptoms of a narcissist is her inability to perceive others as people with needs
