The One Truth Narcissists Can’t Handle Hearing

Narcissists only believe what they want to believe, and sadly, not all of those things can be considered truths.

There is one real, honest truth in particular though, that narcissists cannot handle hearing.

They go crazy the moment you open your mouth and reveal what this truth is, because they are ill-prepared to face reality. Let’s be honest, they refuse so many realities anyway.

Want to know what the one truth I refer to is?

Look no further!

#1 The narcissist you know

Narcissists all exhibit the same traits, so if there is a narcissist you know, the chances are, through their behavior predictabilities, I know them, too.

Each one loves the sound of their own voice. They speak, and expect the entire world to stop and listen.

They tell a story, and they want the whole world hanging into every word.

The narcissist you know will be like this. They will be so entitled by nature that nothing and nobody will come close to their image of perfection.

People will be considered lower down than them, and a narcissist will do what it takes to maintain that level of stature and control.

The narcissist you know will only know and believe in one truth, and that is their truth.

Anything else can go to hell.

#2 Years of torture

If you enter a relationship with a narcissist, you will endure years of torture trying to make the whole union perfect.

You won’t want it to break, so you will work day and night to pacify them, even though none of it will ever be good enough.

#3 One day, you break

I think it’s understandable that at some point or another, the victim is going to break.

You will be forced to go one way or the other, and on the day you decide you’ve had enough, you will blow up like the narcissist has never seen.

But this isn’t necessarily in the form of yelling, shouting, crying or screaming. This is much more defined than that.

The day you break will be the day that you change forever, and from that moment onward, there will be no going back.

You let out truths the narcissist will find hard to digest, but there is one truth in particular that will send the narcissist spinning.

#4 The day you showed the narcissist the mirror

All your time together has proven that the narcissist is more than happy to show you who they want you to see in the mirror. As they point it to you, they want to show you a person who you don’t recognize.

Look at you!

This is the kind of person you are!

You’re impossible!

This is what I have to deal with every day!

You look, and see the person looking back at you, only it doesn’t make sense.

You’re not that person they’re describing. In fact, the narcissist is hiding behind the mirror, and seemingly describing themselves to you, pretending it’s you!

So you take the mirror, and you show it to the narcissist.

They get to see themselves inside it, and their eyes widen.

Before they get a chance to throw it across the room, you speak.

Look at you!

This is the kind of person you are!

You’re impossible!

This is what I have to deal with every day!

You see what’s happened?

You’ve taken everything they said about you, and shown them that it’s them who is the problem, not you.

And it feels good.

#5 They won’t handle it

The reason a narcissist can’t handle this one truth, is because they have spent their entire life trying to hide these factors from everybody else.

It’s why they’re so hellbent on making your life miserable – so their own traits are well hidden from the world.

Spending years perfecting the type of image they carry with them, all their toxic traits become everything to do with you, and nothing to do with them

It’s the way narcissists prefer it. If they could be honest, they’d tell you:

I hate who I am. I know I am a terrible person, and I know how abusive I am. I blame everybody else for my own problems, and I love to create drama and conflict wherever I go.

Rather than speak of these huge admissions, the narcissist hides them.

You might notice the narcissist starts yelling at you.

How dare you!

I am nothing of the sort!

Meanwhile internally, they are shocked to the core that you’ve handed them a truth they can’t even hold. You’re asking them to admit that they’re a narcissist, and that their toxic behavior is what has destroyed you.

You’re saying, “This isn’t me, and I know it.”

And you want them to agree with you ,hold the mirror, and tell you everything they’ve been doing all this time.

They won’t.

They would sooner leave the room and never speak to you again than have an honest conversation with you about their treatment of you.

#6 The end of a long, painful chapter

When this moment comes, and you show the narcissist a truth that they know they won’t be able to handle, it will symbolize the end of a long and painful chapter for you.

For so long, you’ve been taught that your behaviors are the reason the relationship is failing, but on this occasion, the moment you’ve had enough and hold that mirror toward the narcissist, you will show them that you are not, and never were.

The chapter is painful. It tells you constant lies about who you are, and the entire dynamic of the relationship.

The truth you’ve been fed was a lie, and it’s a lot to come to terms with and heal from, especially as for so long, you were convinced that you were damaging something amazing.

It wasn’t amazing, it was built on the idea that you were always the one creating conflict and pushing for a fight.

In fact, you weren’t. You wanted peace, and the narcissist took advantage of that.

#7 The importance of knowing your truth

When you know this truth, and finally show the narcissist who they are as a person, you can move forward with it and keep your head held up high.

Moving into new relationships will always feel risky, but if you can know your truth, and realize that the problem is always those who hide and shy away from their accountabilities, then you will never run into a narcissist ever again.

You always know when you’ve come close to ending your time with a narcissist, and that’s when you start to awaken to what’s going on.

When you see yourself in that mirror and are told that you are to blame for everything, the easy reaction would be to apologize.

Don’t.

That’s what the narcissist wants, and that is to shoulder all the blame, while they yet again, get away with everything.

This is not you. It is them.

The sooner you realize that, the sooner you will be free from their manipulation and abuse, so you can go ahead and live a happy life on your own terms.
