Mr or Mrs Know-it-all strikes again!
Your eyes roll for the fiftieth time as the narcissist talks their way into a subject they have absolutely no clue on.
It’s painful, isn’t it?
You want to ask them why they’re so determined to put themselves out there when evidently they have nothing substantial to offer the conversation.
Yet there they are, digging that hole for themselves.
The question is: why do they do it?

Get Ready…
The explosive attitude of a narcissist who thinks they know it all is about to come crashing down on you.
It’s actually pretty nauseating to me to watch one in action try to fluff and buff their way through any conversation they land themselves in.
I know all about that.
I’m an expert when it comes to this.
I am fully aware of what needs to be done.
You know nothing about this. Unlike me.
Does any of that sound like a phrase you’ve heard before?
For me, I have. Many a time, in fact.
And I still find it laughable when I think about all the times a narcissist I’ve known tries to pretend they are the brains. The experts. The ones who everybody else should bow down to and worship.
But I don’t believe in doing that.
I think goodness needs to be earned, and that doesn’t come naturally to some people. Well, to narcissists anyway.
And They’re All The Same

If you think not all narcissists operate in the same way, then you’re mistaken.
Once you’ve met one, you’ve truly met them all.
The same dynamics apply. The same rulebook. The same pain. The same results. The same symptoms within all their victims.
It’s time to remind you quickly exactly who narcissists are:
Quick Fire Narcissist Round

Let’s get one thing clear, here. All narcissists are the same. Male, female, young, old, rich, poor, color, creed: These 8 elements will form a narcissist.
Meeting one kind of means you’ve met them all. Naturally, this is why victims fall into relationships with more than one; that familiarity is known to them.
As different as their personalities may be, the traits behind the mask are all the same.
From the moment they charm you, to the time you can’t take any more, it’s you who will suffer.
All narcissists are the same. Male, female, young, old, rich, poor, color, creed: These 8 elements will form a narcissist.
#1 They’re full of their own self-importance.
#2 They think they’re always right.
#3 They hate being questioned or confronted.
#4 They love attention.
#5 They lie.
#6 They hate you for attempting to cross them or undermine them.
#7 They refuse to listen to you.
#8 They suck.
I hope you read all of those points three times.
Each one gives an interesting insight into why they think they know it all.
Narcissists as Experts: Why?
To ruin your day, that’s why!
Or, if you want the premium edition:
#1 They love an audience

Anything that draws a crowd, you can guarantee the narcissist will be first in line calling out for tickets.
The more people who hover and cling around them, the better.
And they’re so good at pretending. They could talk their way out of any situation with their fake charm and enthusiasm to please.
It is more than mildly gross!
#2 They want to be the wise ones

Tell us a story, oh wise one.
Tell us how you know everything.
Feed us your limitless shrine of information.
Enough of that! Narcissists will think that’s what their audience are thinking when they’re swarming around them like flies on a week-old pie.
You know better.
At least, I hope you know better!
Putting your trust into their wisdom will only lead you to fall from the highest height. They aren’t wise, they just like to think they are.
More fool anybody who falls for their lies.
#3 They’re gagging for your validation

If there’s one thing narcissists need on a daily basis, it’s the validation from everybody they meet.
That could look like:
Wow, you’re so clever.
You literally know everything – it’s so cool!
Your car is beautiful. You’re lucky.
I love how intelligent you are about these things.
I love what you do to your hair.
You’re such a good friend/parent/partner.
Narcissists need to hear these kinds of comments to almost cement their own self-worth.
They cannot find it themselves. It would be impossible, seeing as they are some of the most insecure people to walk the planet.
The difference between the average insecure person, and a narcissist, is ego.
With you, you might be a little insecure about your body, or your ability to drive. But you work on it. You own that insecurity.
Narcissists will cover their insecurities with a blend of ego and entitlement. They put their faith in how good they are at covering the cracks of their real persona.
You and I?
We own those cracks.
Narcissists will talk over them, pretending to know everything about everything just to hear that they’re wonderful.
#4 Involve them… now!

Don’t leave me out!
I need to hear what’s going on!
Whatever.
You may have been having a healthy, balanced conversation with a friend, and the narcissist comes along and tries immediately to manipulate it to being all about them.
Suddenly, you and your friend are listening to their constant flow of meaningless crap.
It’s boring as much as it is tiring, but narcissists need to be a part of it so they don’t feel left out.
#5 They actually think they’re always right

In some kind of twisted, destroyed self-perception, narcissists view themselves as right, even when everybody else knows they’re wrong.
It’s so interesting to watch them bathe in the glory of their own grandiosity. It’s as if they’re in their own world, but they expect you to tag along for the ride without saying a single word.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve had a little experience in watching narcissists attempt to be right, and insist that they are.
You try to argue with them, but it does you no good. If anything, they try to embarrass you for daring to speak against them. As their shame leads to you, you’re left speechless.
How anybody can live under such false illusions is beyond me, but that’s the reality we’re dealing with, here.
And the more you get to know them, the more they pull you into this fake reality.
The most dangerous part of that is how they pull you out of your actual reality by gaslighting you.
Before you know it, you believe everything they say, even if it’s complete trash they know nothing about.
