20 Things That Completely Ruins a Narcissist’s Day

The narcissist is awake. They get up out of bed and start their day with a wish and a smile.

I wish to manipulate as many people as possible, and ruin their day today.

Great, off you go.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, the narcissist’s day is totally ruined. What was the cause?

I happen to have the 15 top things that completely ruin a narcissist’s day

Which one are you hoping will dent the narcissist you know today?

1. Being Ignored

The sheer fact that narcissists crave as much attention as they do ought to highlight the hatred within when you ignore them.

Narcissists thrive on attention, and without it, they feel lik the most insignificant people on the planet.

Oh well.

If the shoe fits, right?

2. Being Criticized

Even just the slightest hint of criticism can send a narcissist spiralling into a rage. They’re flawless, remember? They don’t want you to tell them how terrible they are at something…

Remember… that’s how they’re supposed to treat you!

Pass me the sick bucket…

3. Someone Else Getting the Spotlight

Oh, you’d better watch out for the green-eyed monster if you’re down for having good things happen to you.

The narcissist won’t take kindly to you becoming a high achiever, or succeeding in your life.

If it hasn’t got them in the mainframe, they’re going to have a serious problem with you.

Praise should only go to the narcissist (according to them).

4. Not Getting Special Treatment

Imagine a stepladder. The narcissist wants to be right at the top of it, and they want you and everybody else to be on the steps below.

In fact, the lower you are, the better.

5. Losing Control Over Someone

The tighter a narcissist’s grip is on you, the better they feel. That way, they can bend and shape you however they like, even if it makes you feel terrible.

And you know the worst part? If you start resisting, they will grip tighter. The key is to keep resisting and let them know that you’re the boss of your own life.

Only then will their day be brutally ruined.

It’s your life – you’ve gotta live it your way!

6. Being Held Accountable

While the narcissist loves to be in control, they hate any responsibility that goes with it. If they take responsibility, they’re easily liable for blame.

Never call them out.

Well…unless you want to ruin their day, of course.

7. Seeing Someone They Devalue Succeed

It’s a classic narcissistic trait to put somebody down and actually enjoy doing it. Do you ever see that smug smirk on their faces as they wipe the smile off yours?

Yeah. It almost borders psychopathy.

But yet it’s where you’ll notice the narcissist thrives the most.

8. Being Exposed as a Liar

Deception is the middle name of any narcissist, and it’s the reliance on deceiving you, the victim, to be able to keep their image highly maintained.

Getting caught in a lie, or even a web of lies, is going to crush them and ruin more than just their day, believe me!

But you know what the funny thing is?

It’s so fun to see them squirm!

9. When Their Manipulation Fails

Oh dear. Did it not work for you?

Poor little narcissist. Why don’t go swan off and cry in your little narcissist cave.

Victims don’t always play along, and if you’re going to obviously be the manipulator, victims can just as obviously refuse you.

And I say this…

It’s about time!

10. Being Rejected

Rejection is the heart of any narcissistic collapse. The moment you reject them, they’re never going to treat you the same again.

Isn’t that a good thing, though?

I know personally speaking, I treat narcissists as if they’re a tiny person in the distance who can’t get any closer to me.

And it works for me.

11. Losing a Source of Narcissistic Supply

Losing supply sends the narcissist into a world of chaos.

Dynamics keep them feeling grand and glorious. When you take yourself out of it, they are helpless.

And I mean – helpless.

12. Having to Apologize

Watch them try to say the words.

They twitch.

They almost malfunction, like a computer that won’t start because it has a virus on the hard drive.

And it’s brilliant.

You almost want to say, “Sorry, I didn’t quite hear you.”

13. Someone Standing Up to Them

If you can stand up to a narcissist, then I absolutely applaud you.

I think more people should be doing this, and feeling less afraid to be inclined to, as well.

No more should narcissists have control, and instead they should be put in their place whenever possible.

14. Being Outperformed

Superior is the narcissist.

The golden badge goes to… the narcissist!

Oh stop it. No it doesn’t. But they want it to, to the point where they actually expect it.

Anything other than that causes nothing but embarrassment.

15. Being Confronted with the Truth

The fantasy world of the narcissist is not for us to understand, but it is for us to abide by.

It’s a shame they can’t comprehend that perfection is non-existent, isn’t it? After all, that’s the beauty of life.

We weren’t designed to be these kinds of people who get everything right, do everything right, and say everything right.

But you know? Reality is their enemy.

16. Losing Social Status

Knock them down, and they won’t get back up again.

That high social standing the narcissist demands can and does fade, and when it does, you’ll see their day totally ruined.

17. Genuine Love and Kindness

Real love and kindness that is genuine absolutely ruins a narcissist’s day. If that sounds crazy, then welcome to the world of narcissists!

They only know how to offer those things under condition, which in turn is a form of manipulation.

So if you’re doing it for nothing back, then you’re already a better person than them!

18. A Person Setting Boundaries

No means no. You stick to your word. You keep promises made to yourself. And if that means the narcissist is pushed back, then good. So be it.

As much as they will always try to overstep, good, strong boundaries will always be the thing that pushes them back.

They can’t control you? Big ouch!

19. Seeing Others Happy Without Them

Life goes on fine without them. In fact, people are actually thriving

Well, that goes to prove the narcissist wasn;t needed in the first instance, doesn’t it?

The best revenge is success, after all!

20. Being Forgotten

If a narcissist could put a plaque up at every place they visit, they would.

“I was here, but now I am not. You should worship me a lot.”

No, you’re alright. I’d rather worship my next door neighbor’s cat.

Sorry if that ruins your day (ahem, not sorry).
