Satisfying!
Sometimes, yes. I do know there are more films where the narcissist develops so much self-awareness that by the end of the movie, they’ve redeemed themselves and made up with everybody they’ve hurt.
I personally don’t like those films, because they teach people that narcissism can suddenly be cured and the more writers engage that storyline in different movies, the more likely it feels that can happen in real life.
It doesn’t happen often, but what does crop up that you can like and find a little power in, are the following ten movies.
Not only does the narcissist lose, but the victim openly WINS in the end.
And I think that’s something you all need more of!

10 Movies You Have To See Now!
#1 Enough

Enough sees the character Slim, played by Jennifer Lopez, as a victim of her abusive and narcissistic husband, Mitch.
Mitch gains control over every aspect of Slim’s life and sees Slim as his possession. He punishes her for any attempt to assert any kind of independence.
Slim’s initial efforts to escape with their daughter don’t go down well. Mitch uses his wealth and influence to stalk her, and she believes she will never break free from his control.
Slim eventually evolves from a victim to a survivor, with a determination to protect herself and her daughter. She trains hard in self-defense, as she prepares for the ultimate final confrontation with her narcissistic partner.
There is a great showdown, where Slim lures Mitch into a trap. After a fierce battle – well – you have to watch!
#2 Gone Girl

Gone Girl is about Amy, both the victim and victor in a toxic marriage with her narcissistic husband, Nick.
Nick is a pretty self-centered and unfaithful narcissist who betrays Amy’s trust through cheating as well as emotional neglect.
It really makes her feel insignificant in their relationship, but Amy, being highly manipulative and intelligent, devises a plan to frame Nick. She wants to expose him to the world!
Throughout the film, Amy controls the narrative, turning public opinion against Nick and manipulating him into a corner where he has no choice but to do as he is told.
Eventually, Amy forces Nick to stay with her by revealing she’s pregnant.
Nick tries to regain that control he’s been used to having, but Amy wins. She proves she is more powerful than the narcissist she’s tolerated all this time!
#3 Matilda

Who doesn’t know Matilda?!
Before it was a movie, it was one of the world’s best and most popular children’s books that – well – if you know, you know.
This movie sees Matilda, a young girl stuck in a house where she feels she doesn’t belong.
Forced to be raised by her two narcissistic, mean, and abusive parents, Matilda is deprived of learning, so she takes the reins and reads her way to school.
Soon enough, the empathic, gentle, and nurturing Miss Honey takes Matilda under her wing, protecting her from the awful Headteacher (and yet another bully), Mrs Trunchbull.
Over time, Matilda and Miss Honey’s bond deepens, and Matilda gains much for herself and her teacher – eventually becoming Matilda’s adoptive mother.
Matilda is just a young girl, yet she demonstrates so much power and thirst for justice and happiness that the narcissists around her stand little to no chance of ever succeeding.
#4 The Devil Wears Prada

In The Devil Wears Prada, Andy begins as the victim of her very demanding and narcissistic boss, Miranda.
Miranda treats her employees terribly and constantly belittles Andy. She manipulates her staff’s lives, wants to be the most important person, and demands sacrifices that alter Andy’s boundaries.
Over time, Andy begins to lose herself a little. She eventually realizes that success under Miranda’s control comes at the cost of her values. Soon enough, Andy chooses to leave her job.
By walking away, Andy feels powerful for once. She is away from the grasp of the narcissist!
#5 Sleeping With The Enemy

Laura is trapped in an abusive marriage to her controlling and narcissistic husband, Martin.
Martin wants and has control of everything, from Laura’s appearance even to the arrangement of household items.
Boy, is she punished for everything!
Desperate to get out, Laura fakes her death, heading to a small town to start a brand new life.
Who eventually finds her?!
Martin!
Laura faces him – no longer the person she used to be.
The showdown is fantastic – and it will leave you on the edge of your seat!
#6 The Girl on the Train

The Girl on the Train follows Rachel, who is pretty fragile.
On her daily train commute, she witnesses something pretty terrible. She also struggles with alcoholism and a recent divorce. However, she fixates on this ‘seemingly’ perfect couple she observes,
Rachel projects her desires for a happier life onto them, but when the woman goes missing, Rachel becomes a key witness.
This only draws her deeper into things!
Secrets soon unravel and truths come out.
There are so many twists and turns – you won’t regret it!
#7 Revolutionary Road

This movie sees April, a victim trapped in a terrible marriage with Frank, the narcissist!
April’s attempts to escape their predictable life and pursue a new start are rejected by Frank.
April decides to take control, and this movie will have you clutching the edge of your seats to see how she does it!
#8 Gaslight

Gaslight sees Paula as the victim of her husband, Gregory. Gregory seeks to drive Paula insane to gain control—you’ll be familiar with his tactics, for sure!
He isolates her, moves objects around the house, and dims the gaslights, all while insisting she is imagining things. It’s exactly where the term ‘gaslight’ comes from!
The end of this movie is well worth the watch, and if you need to pause to shake off the tension, I recommend it!
#9 The Hand The Rocks The Cradle

This movie shows Claire targeted by Peyton, who is completely narcissistic and sociopathic. Peyton poses as a nanny after a double tragedy blamed on Claire.
Peyton wants to destroy Claire’s life, and she certainly gives it a good go!
It’s not that easy, though – and Claire becomes wide awake to everything.
To say the victim wins here is an understatement!
#10 To Die For

Suzanne is a narcissistic woman, as much as she is ambitious. Her husband, Larry, becomes the victim of her manipulation when he proposes that they settle down together and focus on family.
Suzanna isn’t having any of it!
Seeing Larry as an obstacle, Suzanne plots the unimaginable with the manipulative help of others.
Larry’s family isn’t through with Suzanne and they don’t give up trying to clear his name. They do – and the end isn’t good at all for Suzanne!
You have to watch to appreciate it!
